Live life like today is your last

Life is for living. Don't just dream your dreams...live them. Kiss boys, drink cocktails, wear heels to do the laundry in, dance in the rain, play in the snow, lie in the sun, dance in your underwear, wear your Sunday best on a Saturday, take photographs, make memories and fall in love. Keep your eyes open and take in the world. Fashion surrounds us..as Coco Chanel said, "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.". Work hard, play harder. Love from me. x x x

Scrumptious Brunch

Good evening Bloguettes,

So a couple of Sundays ago a pal and I decided to live dangerously (Well I say dangerously because we were both kind of poor *I'll use the term loosely*) and give in to our craving for luxury food at affordable prices. We picked our brains and dithered about (we're both terribly indecisive) before finally settling on the only solution : Hillhead Bookclub.

Nestled just round the corner from Hillhead subway station (17 Vinicombe Street to be precise).  Look for the  seahorse with a top hat and you'll find this excellent place where good food meet cocktails and all so very reasonably priced.

We did intend to go there for the Brunch Menu (and the title of this post would suggest) but with grumbly tums we ended up going for the Sunday Roast with all the trimmings and the Bookclub Sandwich *yum* and finished off with banoffee pie and cheesecake.

(No picture of the roast - she says I'm too hipster as it is...)

I decided to splash out (forgetting about my supposedly shoestring budget) and have a cocktail - can't remember the name but it involved passionfruit.  Now, I will say that the service can be a touch relaxed here and it took a couple of gentle reminders before I got my drink - soft drinks came promptly though. When the drink did come it was so worth the wait.

Everyone's very friendly it's just not the ideal place if you're in a rush. We were quite happy to relax and munch on our delicious (as usual) food and take in all the goings on - there was a vintage fair being held upstairs which is a regular thing at weekends.  Plenty of stalls nestled in among the cosy sofas and table tennis tables - you can also play good old fashioned board games. Great fun.
