Live life like today is your last

Life is for living. Don't just dream your dreams...live them. Kiss boys, drink cocktails, wear heels to do the laundry in, dance in the rain, play in the snow, lie in the sun, dance in your underwear, wear your Sunday best on a Saturday, take photographs, make memories and fall in love. Keep your eyes open and take in the world. Fashion surrounds us..as Coco Chanel said, "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.". Work hard, play harder. Love from me. x x x

Outfit post - Flirty skirty

Cropped t-shirt: Topshop
Skirt: Bershka
Shoes (just seen): Matalan
Sunglasses: Gok Wan for Specsavers

Outfit post - Final night

Dress - Religion (Can be worn buttoned or unbuttoned) - bought in vintage shop in the West End of Glasgow
Shoes - Matalan
Watch - Marc by Marc Jacobs
Bangle - Vintage
Blue bracelet - Parisian boutique; "Chez les Filles"
Necklace - Vintage
Sunglasses - Gok Wan for Specsavers

This dress reminds me of Summer 2012. What a summer. (Sorry, that's all I'm saying on the matter...) I love the way it hangs loose when unbuttoned and yet can work just as well for a night out buttoned up with heels, or worker boots if Buff club is the choice for dancing.

I took these shots on the last night in South Africa just before where we went to my favourite restaurant (possibly in the world...) Grand Provence. The food was sublime...pictures coming soon in my South Africa post...but my heart was a little broken that night at the prospect of leaving again so soon after arriving.

Outfit post - Dinner casual

Cardigan - Parisian boutique
Jeans - Zara
Heels - Kurt Gieger
Watch - Marc by Marc Jacobs
Gold bracelet - Vintage
Pale blue bracelet - Parisian boutique; "Chez les Filles"
Necklace - Vintage aquamarine, gold and diamond...Santa was very good to me..

This outfit (spot the cardigan..again. Is it possible to over-wear an item of clothing?!) was pulled together very quickly after trying on what felt like a hundred things and then having a tantrum  dismissing them all for a simple look, pop of colour and made a little more sophisticated with my old faithful dancing heels and pretty jewelry.

Snappy outfit post - Bbq relaxation

Cardigan - Parisian boutique
Shorts - Zara

Hello - this was a VERY quick snap I took of my outfit for the only night we stayed in to eat during my recent trip to SA.

The cardigan is my mama bear's and I FINALLY (and I'm talking about after years of convincing whining) got her to lend it to me on a long term basis. I love that the outfit is comfy and casual yet the luxury of the cashmere and silk in the cardigan makes it feel not too....slobby?

All Saints

I wish I had lots of money so that I could dress mostly in All Saints...but usually I only buy from the sale, but Christmas money is for the little luxuries right?? So I splashed out a little and bought this - a simple, classic, staple piece; boring right? Wrong!

This is a silk, cotton blend and although it's 'only' a t-shirt it feels so soft and worn in perfectly that I feel great in it - and the best thing about staple pieces is that I can chill out with it in my fab Zara skinnies or dress it up with the other Zara purchase I made but haven't blogged about because I'm saving it for a special occasion/outfit post...

ASOS

Another favourite shopping spot is ASOS.com. I love both their own collection as well as the huge range of brands they stock. The top was just a simple basic again but loved the bright colour - really think I'm overcompensating on the bright wardrobe colours to make up for the dreary skies.

The leggings (Religion@ASOS) are also a step in a unusually bold direction for me, I'm a little wary of them...especially since you have to a pretty excellent figure to wear leggings as trousers...I'll report back.

I adore the dress. I will do an outfit post with it soon, lying flat it doesn't do it justice - I love that it's not tight and short, the shift shape is a classic but the slight shine to the skirt pleats add an edge and I feel very grown up in it.

Zara

So - as promised - pictures of my recent purchases. Zara is fast becoming my go-to place for chic, understated wardrobe samples. Absolutely in LOVE with my new skinny jeans.

Zara is the definition of European chic - the clean, simple lines of the tailored office-ready pieces provide the perfect , neutral pallete for a killer pair of heels and a statement necklace.

The colours are always elegant and scream elegance while the materials used are rich and luxurious, yet the clothes are always reasonably priced making the brand accessible for all purses.

I recently started looking further into the neatly filled rails and discovering that as well as gorgeous blazers and amazing, designer-style. handbags Zara also provides excellent casual pieces.

Can't wait to snuggle up in my new jumper which is a great way to stay warm but freshen up my colours - all the rain is making the sky dark enough without also having to be dressed head to toe in dark colours!! And as for those skinnies...they are butter soft and comfy as anything but still structured enough to work for a smart casual occasion when thrown together with a smart blouse and heels. The t-shirt; I normally hate slogan tees but loved the details used to make the heart so made an exception...keep an eye out - that t-shirt might be making an appearance soon in an outfit post.

Daily photo challenge

Hello, sorry for being so quiet recently but a lot of catching up has been happening in South Africa - anyhoo I have been trying to decide where I should post my daily pictures for 2013 and decided I didn't want to clutter up this blog so I have created a tumblr:
