Live life like today is your last

Life is for living. Don't just dream your dreams...live them. Kiss boys, drink cocktails, wear heels to do the laundry in, dance in the rain, play in the snow, lie in the sun, dance in your underwear, wear your Sunday best on a Saturday, take photographs, make memories and fall in love. Keep your eyes open and take in the world. Fashion surrounds us..as Coco Chanel said, "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.". Work hard, play harder. Love from me. x x x

A little shopping problem (Part 3)

So as promised..my little huge haul from Lush.  I am so excited to use all these goodies - just waiting for the perfect evening to have a long soak in the bath. I've been at Lush a few weeks now and decided it was finally time to buy all the goodies I've had my eye on - I didn't realise how big Lush are on skincare and so I'm keen to see if these yummy, often natural creams and lotions can be the ones that finally tame my unruly skin....

Bliss...

So..products I splurged on:

Rose jam shower gel: Gorgeous smell with vanilla pod infusion, argan oil, geranium oil, Turkish rose absolute and Sicillian lemon oil.  Will be using this as bubble bath goodness rather than as shower gel; can also be used as shampoo and liquid soap. Limited edition for the festive period.

Daddy-O shampoo: I've recently gone very very blonde and my hairdresser highly recommended this shampoo, based on feedback another client of hers gave about the shampoo, so I thought I'd give it a go. There's fresh sea water, organic lime juice, virgin coconut oil, fresh organic lemon and violet leaf absolute.  It smells like parma violets and I am obsessed already...

Celestial face cream: Creamy goodness, I put on a tiny bit on in the shop when I buying some and it felt so hydrating on my always-dry face. Packed with vanilla water, almond oil and almond milk. This beauty isn't perfumed (great, because my skin can be a little sensitive...) because they use"skin-soothing (fresh dove) orchids steeped in almond oil"

Celebrate body lotion: So this goodie had me hooked from the moment I got a sniff of it.  There's almond oil, Brazilian orange oil, lime oil and orange flower absolute.  My favourite ingredient to this lotion? The cognac oil.  This one is perfect for lifting your spirits and making your skin smooth for a great night out... Limited edition for the festive period.

Sympathy for the Skin body lotion: Sympathy for the Skin smells good enough to eat. It has vanilla pod infusion (you can see the specs in the pictures below), almond oil, cocoa butter, fresh organic bananas, sandalwood oil and lemon oil.  I get the feeling I won't ever be buying an another body lotion...

Turkish Delight shower smoothie:  This looks and smells amazing. With rose oil, rose absolute, jasmine absolute, rose water, almond oil, cocoa butter, rapeseed oil and coconut  packed into this little pot Turkish Delight seems like it's going to smooth my skin perfectly in the shower or bath, I'll report back with my verdict.

Santa's lip scrub: I'm already in love with the bubblegum all-year-round version of the lip scrub but when this festive version came out I had to have it. Dates and cranberries give it a lovely smell and it tastes like coca-cola on your lips..and we all know that the coca-cola advert can only mean one thing....CHRISTMAS!!! Also love the red hearts on the top layer (Pics below) Limited edition for the festive period.

Miranda soap: This soap is creamy, fruity yet fresh and an all round good product.

Snowglobe soap: Looking forward to using this on those cold winter mornings to waken me up.  It is so ZINGY. Love love love. Limited edition for the festive period.

Golden Wonder bath ballistic: I swear I'm hooked on Golden Wonder...maybe because it smells, and has the same ingredients mostly, as Celebrate??? I ALWAYS show customers this one.  Turns the water a gorgeous turquoise and I adore the golden stars. Limited edition for the festive period.
Bombardino bath ballistic (x2): These little guys are the cutest...well one of the cutest...Christmas goodies in store. They smell so delicious and caramel-y and were inspired by the apres-ski beverage. Limited edition for the festive period.
So White bath ballistic: This fresh, looking white ballistic has a fresh green apple smell to match.  Haven't seen it in the water yet but rumour has it that the water turns pink...and I'm so very much OK with that! Limited edition for the festive period.
Twighlight bath ballistic: I got this one for the lustre, the girly-ness and the smell. It's quite a sweet one but I'm excited to see it in action.

A little shopping problem (Part 2)

I can't really afford this next piece I bought...but I went ahead and bought it anyway...it's an INVESTMENT....

Ah, All Saints - I have such a love/hate relationship with this brand; love everything but hate the prices....oh well.

So my latest splurge investment piece from the brand is the Cho Biker Jacket.  The second I saw that jacket I knew it was meant to be, the ultimate must-have (of the week...), love at first sight.

It screams perfection; oversized lapels, cosy snugness - Italian wool, boucle and 'pre-tumbled' leather sleeves.  Big, deep pockets to snuggle my hands in during the chilly autumnal days (I hate gloves...). It makes me feel like an incredibly chic black sheep....

All Saints - you've done me proud again!

Again...an outfit post of this will follow...soon...ish. As will Part 3 of my shopping haul - the Lush goodies....

A little shopping problem (Part 1)

So naughty me I've been lazy, errrm busy, recently. Started a new job at Lush as a Christmas temp. (Having SO much fun) and have also been busy busy with my new job for Twinkle Twinkle Tiaras...

Anyway - in among all my working I've been..shopping. I would say this has to stop but I've realised (quite some time ago) that I have a huge little shopping addiction and who am I to stand in the way of giving into my needs??

So what have I been buying? Welll....ever since I saw Rose from The Londoner wearing a gorgeous flowery tank top during an acrobatic moment I absolutely HAD to check out LOF (Language of Flowers)...especially since she offered a cheeky discount code, fate surely?

Well I instantly became smitten with all the designs, in particular the Red Rose design but sadly this one was sold out in my size (SOB) so I continued my search and ended up falling for these beauties:

On the LOF Campaign page they give the following background on Dog Flower and Verbena flowers:

Dog RosePLEASURE & PAIN
The Dog Rose a.k.a the wild rose's name originated in medieval times, when it was believed that the root was effective against the bite of a mad dog.Common in the hedgerows of the English countryside with its beautiful pale pink petals and sharp barbed thorns, to the Victorian’s it symbolised pleasure & pain going hand in hand with life.In our illustration the delicate beauty of the butterflies represents the pleasure felt when receiving this beautiful bloom and when life is going well whilst the arrows piercing the flower represent the pain that one often has to endure to make ones dreams whether it be in love of life come true.

VerbenaENCHANTED

Also known as the flower of Grace, Enchanter's Plant or Herb of Enchantment, Verbena has a long history of use as an enchantress's herb. There was a wide variety of uses for the plant in ancient magical workings but most often it was used as an ingredient in protective spells, believed to ward off evil spirits and bring happiness and an enchanted life to those who were given it.
In our illustration this enchantment is symbolized by the unicorn, the most wondrous of all mystical creatures. According to legend this creature was so magical and enchanting she would only appear to humans who were pure in thought and virtuous in their deeds.
In addition to this with its origins tied to royalty the vivid purple color of these flowers has always held a sacred place in nature, with purple flowers often considered the most precious.

Things that I loved about this brand:

  • Strong brand message
  • Styling of the products on the gorgeous models
  • Great website
  • The packets of seeds to 'Plant with Love'
  • The handwritten thank you note - made me feel really special, and also made me want to write more letters!

Can't wait to get out and wear my lovely goodies - outfit posts will follow soon...ish.
